Tonight read pages 738-741, and you should stop at Japan. Then take a look at a selection from the first chapter of Dream of the Red Chamber linked up here. You can download it in multiple formats, or you can just read it on the web. The actual story starts on the 4th page--skip the author's ramblings at first.
Coming up after we're done with Japan, we'll look at the Islamic Empires (chapter 28) and then be done with this unit. Which means another test is on the horizon--likely 2 weeks away, and we will have a posterous posting to do as well...and another essay! Gosh, I can hear you all clapping from here...
